Imagine years of hiding secrets and pain, never speaking them aloud and believe that if you did, you would be rejected, loathed, ridiculed and condemned.
“I am praising God that I can now see that He is going to take that ugliest, most painful part of my life and bring some good out of it.” -Class Participant
Healing for the Abortion-Wounded Women
St. Joseph PRC offers 9-week classes led by trained peer-facilitators for abortion-wounded women. The course is facilitated with the “Her Choice to Heal” book and study guide by Sydna Masse of Ramah International. Abortion-wounded women participate in small classes offering a safe, confidential and supportive environment where discussions and personal application of biblical truths often lead to spiritual and emotional freedom. Through the use of creative and artistic expression, journaling and Bible reading, participants work to overcome lies that bind them.
Because abortion is considered a voluntary act, grief after an abortion is rarely understood or supported. The grief women may experience after an abortion is seldom recognized and is often repressed or denied. Traumatic effects of an abortion commonly occur when the grieving process is not complete.
If you can identify with more than two of these symptoms, it could be that you are experiencing the after-effects of abortion known as PAS. A woman who is experiencing PAS needs to complete the natural grieving process and realize that they are not alone.
