In spring 1997, Sue Anderson presented her vision to Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church to support abortion-minded women in St. Joseph, Missouri. The church provided financial backing, allowing Sue to become the first director. By November 1998, the “Heartbeat” ministry opened in the church basement, beginning its mission to serve women in crisis.
After eight years of growth, the dream of becoming a medical clinic was realized. In March 2006, Heartbeat became the St. Joseph Pregnancy Resource Clinic, incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and opened at its current location.
St. Joseph PRC continues to expand its services, offering crisis pregnancy clinic appointments, prenatal parenting classes, maternity clothing giveaways, and post-abortion support groups. Through these services, we provide vital information and resources to women in need.
St. Joseph PRC aims to be a refuge for pregnant and post-abortive women while advocating for unborn babies. Grounded in the hope of Jesus Christ, we strive to honor Him through our work and partnerships, making a positive impact on lives.
In the summer of 2019, St. Joseph PRC began offering crisis pregnancy clinic appointments in Cameron, Missouri. We eagerly look forward to further establishing our other services in this community!
