“What a blessing it is to have the PRC in our community! Because of your efforts and care for women and young children, many lives will be saved and enriched beyond measure. Thank you for all you do!”
–A Christmas greeting from a PRC Mom

Empowering Families. Nurturing Futures.
PRC provided baby food, diapers, and formula to families over the 2024 holiday season. To offset the financial stress associated with the month of December, the PRC reached out to families and offered a helping hand. Those who were contacted have had previous help from the PRC, such as clinic appointments, ultrasounds, or support groups. The PRC finished 2024 strong with the “empowering families, nurturing futures” mission.
Pictured above is Copelynn, who was first served by the PRC as a preborn baby with a crisis clinic ultrasound at the Cameron, MO satellite location. Copelynn’s family was supported throughout the unexpected pregnancy with parenting classes, maternity clothing giveaways, and pregnancy resource center supplies. Now 9 months old, she is still being “nurtured” by the PRC from a nutritional standpoint with the food pouches and formula.
Beyond this physiological need being met, continuing the relationship with families in the community is building a strong emotional sense of ongoing support. Supporting families intermittently throughout the childbearing years assists with what the Mayo clinic calls “filling in the gaps.” In a 2023 article, the Mayo clinic listed a few benefits to ongoing support for families including:
- Learning about health, economic, or social resources.
- Gaining a sense of empowerment, control, or hope.
