5-year-Old Cannon Hinnant spent his Sunday going to church, eating lunch out with his family and riding bikes with his sisters. Little did his family know when they agreed to let him ride around in the driveway that only moments later he would be needlessly shot in the head while playing.
Cannon’s unjust death was mourned by his relatives and observers as sickeningly evil. His life was undeniably sacred, yet one man’s disregard took him from the world. What would his family give for one more day with him?
Cannon had 1,825 days of life more than the 600,000+ unborn babies who are aborted each year. Still, many struggle to assign the same value to an unborn child as they do to Cannon.
Psalm 139:13-16 paints a clear picture of how intimately God knows and loves us while we are still unborn. In John 13:34 we are commanded “As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” As God loves the unborn, His followers will honor Him by also lovingly valuing all human life.
As Sanctity of Life Sunday approaches on January 17, 2021, PRC is asking individuals and churches who recognize the immeasurable value of an unborn child to raise awareness and fight for those who cannot.
