An Inspired Woman and Her Church…
In the spring of 1997, Sue Anderson shared her vision with Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church to reach out and help abortion-minded women in St. Joseph, Missouri. Frederick Boulevard responded by financially supporting this new ministry and the work began with Sue as the first director. In November 1998, the “Heartbeat” ministry opened its doors in the church basement. The first abortion-minded client was seen, and Heartbeat started its journey of serving women in crisis.
Brought About a Medical Clinic…
After eight years that held many changes and had encouraging growth, the hope of becoming a medical clinic was finally reached. In March 2006, Heartbeat changed its name to St. Joseph Pregnancy Resource Clinic, was incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit incorporation and opened its doors at the current PRC location.
Services Expanded…
St. Joseph PRC continues to expand services and currently offers crisis pregnancy clinic appointments, prenatal parenting classes, maternity clothing giveaways and post-abortion support groups. As services are conducted, we have the opportunity to provide critical information and resources to these women.
The Vision is Upheld…
St. Joseph PRC strives to be a refuge for women who are pregnant or post-abortive. We are committed to advocating for unborn babies. The foundation of our efforts is the hope of Jesus Christ. As we seek to honor Him in all aspects of the organization and through partnerships from people who believe in our mission, we are making life better!
The Mission is Growing…
In the summer of 2019, St. Joseph PRC began offering crisis pregnancy clinic appointments in Cameron, Missouri. We eagerly look forward to further establishing our other services in this community!
