Now Is The Time
What day is it? I have found myself asking this question a lot lately. My calendar is cleared and routines are new. Yet, this is not an unproductive season. I am calling the last eight weeks a reset time to revisit my priorities and renew my commitments.
Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:37-39
One of my priorities is to care for the needs of women in unplanned and unwanted pregnancies. I do not work directly with the women. Yet, I have the responsibility to ensure no-cost crisis clinic appointments are available for these women, many of whom already have abortions scheduled. During the appointments, women have the opportunity to meet their babies during an ultrasound. When I care about pregnant women in crisis, I am caring for the voiceless, pre-born babies.
I am also determined to encourage pregnant women in our community who need assistance. This is done through the My Baby & Me classes at PRC. We are adapting, offering an online class for women in the third trimester of pregnancy, and staying in touch with moms-to-be enrolled in the program.
As I educate the community about PRC’s emphasis on hosting post-abortive support for women, I remember the importance of a peer-led group to guide the journey of forgiveness and restoration. I will strive to care about post-abortive women.
Yes, the health and economic impact of the pandemic could consume me. Instead, my priorities are to help pregnant and post-abortive women. Dedicated staff and volunteers fulfill the mission at PRC. For more than 21 years, people like you have helped hundreds of women, our neighbors, by supporting PRC. Thank you!
Now is the time to live out what it means to be for life!
Your contributions to the Pregnancy Resource Clinic will make many lives better.
